Disappointing,
The system is definitely not what I expected. It’s basically topic outlines just like your board review course, but you can compare to their notes which I will say are good and detailed, but beware, I have noticed some minor mistakes and the software is a pain. It is supposed to track your progress, and help you organize and set a pace, but it does neither. However, after spending $$$ on the book, I was still using it daily even though I wasn’t crazy about it. After a couple of months and finally getting used to the program I went on an out of area rotation and was close to a break down when I discovered all of my notes gone. After an hour on the phone with IT (who were and are still trying to help) basically they tell me that IT IS A KNOW ISSUE that the CD will not save your files. If you do not UNZIP the “Personal Professor” you COULD LOOSE ALL YOUR WORK. They sent me a link on how to save my future work online, however that does nothing for what has already been lost. I talked to the rudest, most useless Customer Service people as well with little accomplished. If you would think that the MoneyBack Guarantee applies to faulty software, you’d be wrong. This product has great potential and it may work well for some, but it delivers only a fraction of what they advertize with a side of disappointment and many software kinks.
**If you have the system or are going to get it, please don’t trust that little green “save” button. PLEASE Contact IT so that they send you a link on how to save your work (you would think FADavis would add a warning about this or instructions on how to save.)

|Classroom/Clinical,
Very well put together. Great study tool while in classroom and clerkship. Awesome computer professor to make it much easier for the student/ faculty to use as an adjunct to PA education. All the NCCPA blueprints for review are available as well. I am recommending to PA students as a resource.

|Great system for success!,
This book is different than the typical PANCE/PANRE review books that either are full of review questions/answers or an outlined key-topic review. Classroom to Clinic is unique in that it takes all of the diseases that the writers of the PANCE state are required (testable) and through the use of the CD-ROM included, creates an interactive tablet to fill in important information such as signs/symptoms, differential diagnoses, treatment, etc. For the person who would rather just read and not interact, they have already filled in the same outline for you, to which you could either view on your computer, print, add to, or use as a recourse as you are filling out your own. This book also covers a lot of good test taking and study skills that I found useful, as I am a poor tester. The proper use of the book’s “system” is to open to the chapter of which anatomical system you are covering (e.g. GI, neuro, cardiac, etc.), complete the 25 question pre-test, then go to the CD-ROM and fill out/review all of the relevant diseases covered in the system. Afterwards, the CD has a 25 question post test that you can compare and see how much you improved from your initial pre-test score.
Like I said, this is different than most PANCE review books, but is great for the interactive learner…instead of just reading material or questions/answers, you are somewhat filling out a templated study guide, which is useful because most people remember things they actually work for and look up. Anyhow, it is what you make of it. If you don’t put in the effort, you probably won’t benefit as much, but if you do, well, the book says their is a guarentee you will pass the PANCE!
